Definitions of Coaching Supervision

I find it helpful to have a list of key definitions of coaching supervision.

So useful, I thought I would share them here on the site.  I also think it helps you to gain a picture of how wide the definition of coaching supervision can be!

“A conversational process that helps coaches and mentors to manage their own learning and development in order to improve their coaching practice”  Coaching and Mentoring Supervision Project 2008, Steering Group working definition

“Supervision is an opportunity to bring someone back to their own mind, to show them how good they can be.” Nancy Kline ‘Time to Think’.

Supervision “has the dual purpose of supporting the continued learning and development of the coach, as well as giving a degree of protection to the person being coached.” Bluckert.
